The IT8000 ATEX Scales use a modular concept, with proven standard programs and free programmability that make the IT8000 Ex the ideal weighing terminal for any application, from recipe control to filling controllers for drums or IBCs. Our range of intrinsically safe ATEX scales and balances are approved for use in hazardous areas and potentially explosive atmospheres and corrosive areas.
The IT8000 is housed in a stainless steel desk, panel or wall mounted enclosure, and is fitted with a 4 x 20 character alphanumeric backlit LCD display with operator prompts, guiding the operator through recipe and filling procedures step by step. It provides 4 digital inputs, rated 5VDC intrinsically safe, and 4 digital outputs, also 5VDC intrinsically safe, for connection to solenoid valves, allowing it to directly control filling or dosing equipment within a hazardous area. Power supply options include 12 Vdc, 24 Vdc, 230 Vdc or a rechargeable battery, giving flexibility depending on the site’s existing power infrastructure.
The modular concept and free programmability of the IT8000 allow it to be configured for a wide range of applications, from simple weight indication to recipe-based batching and filling control for drums or IBCs. Its proven standard programs reduce the amount of custom configuration needed for common tasks, while free programmability leaves room for more bespoke process requirements. The IT8000 carries ATEX II 2G Ex e mb [ib] IIB/IIC T4 (gas) certification, and is approved for use in Ex-Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22, giving it Weights and Measures approval for use in these hazardous area classifications. Phoenix Scales is a UKAS ISO 17025 accredited calibration laboratory and an ISO 9001:2015 and Cyber Essentials certified company. We supply, install and calibrate the IT8000 ATEX range with UKAS-traceable certification, and our engineers provide ongoing servicing, repair and re-calibration support to keep each terminal operating safely and accurately throughout its working life.
